Announcing the next generation of supply chain career programs

CSCMP is pleased to announce a major step forward in the training and recruitment of supply chain talent. In partnership with the U.S. government, CSCMP is the industry sponsor and certifying body of the LINCS (Leveraging, Integrating, Networking, and Coordinating Supplies) in Supply Chain Management consortium.

LINCS is an innovative training, education, and certification program that encompasses a set of eight disciplines that entry- and mid-level employees will need in today's marketplace: customer service operations, demand planning, inventory management, manufacturing and service operations, supply chain management principles, supply management and procurement, transportation operations, and warehousing operations.

Through this program, participants will be able to increase their skill sets and secure employment. The program also benefits employers by providing educated, certified entry- and mid-level candidates with the supply chain talents and abilities today's companies increasingly require.

The LINCS program is tailored to reach displaced and long-term unemployed or underemployed workers, as well as veterans looking to enter into or advance their careers in the supply chain management profession. Online and hybrid learning will provide ample flexibility, allowing students to continue their education while balancing other demands.

CSCMP will administer all tests and issue all of the certifications within the LINCS consortium. In addition, CSCMP will serve as a conduit to connect newly certified supply chain managers with potential employers in their area through our roundtables and other industry connections. The LINCS certifications complement CSCMP's own SCPro certification program, which is designed for more senior-level professionals.

Developed through a US $24.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, LINCS certifications are supported by an industry-recognized, standardized program spanning the entire spectrum of businesses involved in supply chain management. And even though LINCS' target audience is displaced workers and military veterans, the program will be available to everyone through CSCMP and the consortium's member colleges and universities.

Participating institutions include Broward College, Columbus State Community College, Essex County College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Harper College, Long Beach City College, Northwestern University, Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey, San Jacinto College, St. Petersburg College, and Union County College.

CSCMP is passionate about developing the careers of all supply chain management professionals—those already working in the field, those who would like to be, and the next generation of supply chain leaders: our students. That's why we are excited to be the industry partner for this vitally important career program. Increasing opportunities for supply chain management training is a win-win for everyone!
