Q4 update shows the "State of Logistics" is improving

For the first time, CSCMP has released a Q4 update to its "State of Logistics Report," presented by Penske Logistics. The annual report, now in its 25th year, quantifies the size of the U.S. transportation market and the impact of logistics on the U.S. economy. It is widely used by supply chain management and logistics professionals and organizations as the primary benchmark for U.S. logistics activity.

The six-page update, written by transportation consultant and "State of Logistics Report" author Rosalyn Wilson, analyzes developments since the original report's release in June 2014. For example, Wilson reports that shipment volume in the fourth quarter of 2014 was the strongest it's been since the Great Recession began in late 2007.

The update also includes information on growing capacity issues and estimates changes in the State of Logistics model, based primarily on data through the third quarter of 2014.

CSCMP members can download the update for free; the cost is US $15 for nonmembers.
