Kenco Strengthens Life Sciences Division with Team Growth, Learning Opportunities

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.— Oct. 5, 2023 – Kenco, one of North America’s leading third-party logistics (3PL) providers, continues to grow its Life Sciences Division with the appointment of Blake Hackler as group vice president, operations, life sciences and the addition of TJ Gbadamosi as a manager of life science network quality. Hackler and Gbadamosi’s hirings are key, exciting steps Kenco is taking to grow the division since it launched in 2022 to meet the life science industry’s ever-changing operational complexities.

Hackler brings extensive life sciences experience to his role. Prior to Kenco, he served as senior director of life sciences for DHL Supply Chain, where he was responsible for contract logistics, and regional director at global healthcare distributor Owens & Minor, where he scaled 3PL service offerings for manufacturers and provided services to regional healthcare facilities. During his career, he has experienced over 30 large-scale, new-customer implementations and solutions that include artificial intelligence, voice-picking, vision-picking, robotics, conveyance, and autonomous vehicles.

“The continued growth of the Life Sciences Division’s bench of experienced, knowledgeable talent is a proud development for our company, allowing us to strengthen our services and ensure that we provide custom, scalable, compliant solutions that enhance supply chain efficiency and help improve the patient experience,” said Tim McClatchy, Head of Life Sciences at Kenco. “Blake, TJ and others on the team will play key roles in helping us meet those goals as Kenco continues to enable success for our life sciences customers.”

Gbadamosi has over 14 years of industry experience with a broad range of products across the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, plus comprehensive knowledge of ISO certification, good manufacturing practices, good clinical practices and FDA regulations. In his new role, he will provide valuable insights to the team and ensure the Life Sciences Division remains in compliance with all industry standards and regulations, which is critical to the customer success in this sector.

In addition to Gbadamosi’s hire, Kenco is investing in new educational opportunities to strengthen the division. Employees will now be required to take Life Sciences & Logistics, a continuing education program with multiple courses that offer insights into key aspects of today’s life sciences industry, including medical device regulation, current good manufacturing practices, good distribution practices, PhRMA code, working with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and more. Kenco will update the courses regularly and require employees to recertify annually so that they can provide customers with the most current, insightful counsel.

“The Life Science industry is continually evolving, and it’s essential that our team stays up to date with the latest rules, regulations and best practices to provide the highest level of value and support for our customers,” McClatchy said. “For example, improving visibility into medical device distribution is key to addressing data discrepancies between manufacturers and hospitals, and today’s medical devices must be constantly monitored for humidity levels, shock and more throughout their journey. Our life sciences team must be knowledgeable on the rules and technology for medical device distribution, spare parts and more. That is how our customers succeed.”
