Each year, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) honors one individual for their significant achievements in the logistics and supply chain management industry. This year's recipient of the 2023 Distinguished Service Award is Theodore P. (Ted) Stank, University Chancellor’s Professor and the Harry J. and Vivienne R. Bruce Chair of Excellence in Business in the Department of Supply Chain Management at the University of Tennessee (UT) at Knoxville.

Stank will be recognized during the Opening General Session at CSCMP's EDGE Conference in Kissimmee, Florida, on Monday, October 2, 2023. With decades of experience in supply chain management, Stank also serves as faculty director of the Global Supply Chain Institute and executive director of the Advanced Supply Chain Collaborative, a joint initiative between UT and leading Fortune 500 partner firms focused on better understanding innovative applications in supply chain management.

Prior to joining UT's faculty, Stank’s business background included sales and marketing experience as an Abbott Laboratories Diagnostic Division employee. He also served as an operations officer in the United States Navy and performed consulting and executive education services for numerous organizations, including Anheuser Busch InBev, Dell, IBM, Lowe’s, Norfolk Southern, OfficeMax, Pepsi, Siemens, Sony, Textron, Walgreens, Walmart, Whirlpool, and the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps. Stank formerly served as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and educational advisor to the Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference and senior editor for the Journal of Business Logistics.

To take part in the celebration of Stank's achievements in supply chain, register to attend EDGE 2023 in Kissimmee, Florida this October 1-4, 2023 by visiting www.cscmpedge.org.
