PARIS, July 5, 2023 — TrusTrace, a global SaaS company with a market-leading platform for product traceability and compliance, and Peftrust, a leading product-level environmental footprinting solution for textiles and footwear, today unveiled a new partnership that goes beyond the exchange of information to combine super-specific Peftrust Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) scores with TrusTrace’s hyper-accurate and authenticated environmental traceability data to create an end-to-end solution for environmental impact and traceability.
The partnership, which leverages TrusTrace’s data that defines a traceability standard, was announced during the Premiere Vision Paris event, taking place on the 4-6 of July.

TrusTrace’s primary data along with Peftrust’s environmental scores offers their customers a more accurate assessment of a product’s life cycle impact.
This partnership enhances the specificity of PEF scores by now leveraging primary data available through TrusTrace’s platform, as opposed to standard industry-averaged data – which tends to be less accurate. As a result, the score takes more brand-specific parameters into account. While a brand only needs to enter a few data points to generate an initial PEF score, utilizing TrusTrace data automatically provides more than 20 specific parameters from the supply chain network, making the score more robust. TrusTrace’s quality data is connected to Peftrust through an API; once a score is calculated, it is sent back into TrusTrace’s user interface.
According to Peftrust Rep Laurent BOCAHUT, the partnership is a major step forward for the industry because it enables brands to achieve a more accurate and improved PEF score to adhere to both government regulations and consumer demands. “Stronger data protects brands from the risk of making false or misleading sustainability claims,” Laurent BOCAHUT said. “Our partnership with TrusTrace is enabling TrusTrace’s customers to more comprehensively evaluate their products and better assess the impact of each at scale. The Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) is a methodology developed by the European Commission to account for a product's entire life cycle. The score, which covers 16 impacts beyond a product’s carbon footprint, is based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), the method for measuring environmental impact. This method tracks manufactured materials from the beginning to the end of its “life” to determine its overall environmental impact. An increasing number of U.S. brands are also considering the PEF score as the most reliable sustainability measurement.
