ATLANTA, Aug. 1, 2022 – CargoBarn, the home of worry-free freight logistics, has strengthened its executive team, adding experienced freight sales and operations specialist Michael Vekasi. Vekasi joins the technology-driven freight brokerage as CargoBarn’s Vice President, Sales.

Vekasi has more than a decade of freight brokerage experience, including recent roles as director of sales and operations for one of the largest 3PLs in the country. In that role, he directed a team of senior managers overseeing more than 180 employees in a major-market office.

“Michael will accelerate the growth we’re having at CargoBarn,” said Cameron Baird, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CargoBarn. “His experience with multiple models and systems will be a great asset to us, while his values and vision for the industry align well with our own,” Baird said.

“I was looking for a company passionate about its culture, and found it in CargoBarn,” Vekasi said. “My last seven years have been focused around developing people both personally and professionally, so I’m thrilled to be joining a company so dedicated to its people and its customers.”

Vekasi started his career as a logistics manager for NOTS Truck Service, where he controlled a majority of the company’s LTL volume through seven states. A Six Sigma Green Belt, Vekasi graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He will work from CargoBarn’s headquarters in Atlanta.
