Welcome to the inaugural issue of CSCMP'S Supply Chain Quarterly. We are excited to launch our new magazine and hope you enjoy all of the content we've worked so hard to bring to you.

CSCMP is on a mission. That mission is to lead the evolving supply chain management profession by developing, advancing, and disseminating supply chain knowledge and research. We are committed to supporting the professional development of each of our members.

As a CSCMP member, you are part of an important global network of more than 9,000 supply chain management professionals. Through your membership in CSCMP, you can take advantage of opportunities to network with like-minded peers from around the world, forge business alliances, and access state-of-the-art information that is pertinent to the profession.

We are also committed to advancing the supply chain management profession on a global scale. This includes educating the greater business community about the value that supply chain management brings to an organization and about its increasing importance to a company's bottom line and longterm viability.

We accomplish these goals through our numerous global educational events, worldclass publications, industry-leading research, and career connections. We're constantly reviewing how best to reach you, our customers, and CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly is a result of that process.

As a not-for-profit professional organization, CSCMP holds these values:

  • We operate with the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
  • We are committed to the individual professional development of our members.
  • We are an inclusive organization, open to all who wish to enhance their supply chain management knowledge.
  • We endeavor to be supply chain management thought leaders by encouraging, promoting, and disseminating leading-edge products and services.
  • We endeavor to offer products and services of the highest quality.

With these values in mind, CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly will bring you interesting articles, case studies, interviews, and personal stories, with a focus on creative and innovative strategies that will help you work more efficiently and improve your organization's performance. We know your time is limited, so we'll do our best to ensure that the content is meaningful to you—wherever you are in the world—and that it is entertaining as well.

We want to hear from you. Tell us what you think. And if you have an article you believe your colleagues would be interested in, by all means let us know, and we'll be pleased to consider it for inclusion in a future issue of The Quarterly.

We hope you enjoy this first issue of CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly, and we look forward to receiving your comments and suggestions. See you in Philadelphia at CSCMP's Annual U.S. Conference, October 21?24, 2007. Don't miss Supply Chain's Premier Event!
