Petroleum casing pipes are steel pipes used to support the walls of oil and gas wells to ensure the normal operation of the entire oil well after drilling and completion. Each well uses several layers of casing according to different drilling depths and geological conditions. Cement is used to cement the casing after the casing is down. It is different from tubing and drill pipe and cannot be reused. It is a disposable material. Therefore, casing consumption accounts for more than 70% of all oil well pipes.

Petroleum casing can be divided into: conduit, surface casing, technical casing and oil casing.

Petroleum casing use: Petroleum casing is a large-diameter pipe, which plays a role in fixing oil and natural gas well walls or boreholes. The casing is inserted into the borehole and fixed with cement to help the borehole separate the rock formations and prevent the borehole from collapsing, while ensuring the circulation of drilling mud to facilitate drilling and exploitation.

Petroleum casing steel grades: H40, J55, K55, N80, L80, C90, T95, P110, Q125, V150, etc. Processing form of casing end: short round thread, long round thread, partial trapezoidal thread, special buckle, etc. Used in oil well drilling, it is mainly used to support the well wall during the drilling process and after completion, to ensure the progress of the drilling process and the normal operation of the entire oil well after completion.

Executive standard: API-5CT/5B, API-5L, ASTM-A106-Gr.B, ASTM-A53 DIN

Petroleum tubing specifications: 1.315"----4-1/2", pipe end processing forms NUE, EUE.

Petroleum casing specifications: 4-1/2”---20”, buckle type: STC, LTC, BTC, etc., and can process various sizes of casing sub-sections according to orders. At the same time, there are also VAM series threads, Hydril series threads, NPT threads and other high gas seal buckles and pipeline threads.

  Material: H40, J55, K55, N80, L80-1, L80-3Cr, L80-9Cr, L80-13Cr, C-90, C95, T95, P110, Q125, 13Cr-110, Super 13Cr, etc.

  Line pipe:
  Specification: 1/2”(21.3mm)—40”(1016mm),
  Material: Gr.B, X42, X46, X52, X60, X65, X70, X80.

  Alloy tube
  Specification: 6-560mm
  Material: 35CrMo, 42CrMo, 40Cr, T91 (P91), 1Cr5Mo (P5), P9 (Cr9Mo), P11, P92, 10CrMo910 (P22), WB36

The important position of oil casing pipes:

  The petroleum industry is an industry that uses a lot of petroleum pipes, and petroleum pipes occupy a very important position in the petroleum industry:

  1. There is a huge amount of oil pipes and a lot of money, which has great potential to save expenses and reduce costs. The consumption of oil well pipes can be calculated based on the annual drilling scale. According to my country's specific conditions, roughly 62kg of oil well pipes are required for every 1m drilled, including 48kg of casing and 10kg of tubing. Drill pipe 3kg, drill collar 0.5kg;

  2. The mechanics and environmental behavior of oil pipes have an important influence on the adoption of advanced technology and the increase in production and efficiency in the oil industry;

  3. The loss of oil pipe failure is huge, and its safety, reliability and service life are of great importance to the oil industry.
