Help select the most innovative supply chain project

CSCMP’s Supply Chain Innovation Award seeks to “crowdsource” two of its finalists.

Every year the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) recognizes companies with the most innovative supply chain projects by presenting them with its annual Supply Chain Innovation Award (SCIA). This year, the SCIA is making its own innovations by updating and crowdsourcing the voting process.

In years past, the SCIA Committee sorted through a slew of submissions and selected six finalists who executed a supply chain project that demonstrated excellence, innovation, and a return on investment while addressing a significant supply chain challenge. These six finalists then went on to present their cases live during breakout sessions at CSCMP’s annual conference, and a panel of judges and conference attendees voted on the winner.

This year, the committee has updated the voting process to tap into the power of the crowd and the contestants’ social networks. The committee has selected four finalists and six semi-finalists. The semi-finalists are now competing for the remaining two finalist spots with the judges being the greater supply chain community.

Supply chain professionals are invited to review video presentations from each of the semi-finalists and vote on the best one. The two teams that receive the highest number of votes will precede on to the finals. Votes can be made every 24 hours from June 17 to July 6, 2020 (starting at 9:00 am CDT).

Note that the number of votes alone does not determine the winner. Instead it serves to showcase each semifinalist's ability to mobilize and engage their personal social networks. Public voting provides social support to individual video submissions.

The two finalists will be publicly announced on July 21, 2020.
