CSCMP and NASSTRAC offer new on-site training programs

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and its partner industry organization NASSTRAC have recently introduced on-site training opportunities for 2020 to help members improve their knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, leadership and strategy, and risk management. The on-site trainings are designed to provide attendees and their teams with access to best practices and solutions for supply chain challenges.

Each training takes place at CSCMP's headquarters in Lombard, Illinois. On April 23, Rick Blasgen, president and chief executive officer of CSCMP, along with Susie Bodnar, director of operations and client strategy at supply chain software company FourKites, will lead the "The Fundamentals of Supply Chain" training session. Supply chain is one of the fastest growing industries, and according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, supply chain jobs are projected to rise at twice the rate of all other jobs in the U.S. Blasgen and Bodnar will discuss what supply chain is and how a strong supply chain can further your organization's strategic goals. Attendees will learn the concepts and magnitude of a strong and properly integrated supply chain along with important issues impacting today's supply chains.

Kicking off in early summer on June 4 will be the "Supply Chain Leadership and Strategy" training session. Hosted by Blasgen and Kevin Smith, president and chief executive officer of Sustainable Supply Chain Consulting, this session will cover what it means to practice strategic leadership versus tactical management, how to define your vision, and ways to identify functional connections within your organization.

Lastly, in the fall of 2020, Blasgen and Kathy Fulton, executive director of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), will hold an interactive, game-based session in which attendees will play the role of an organization working hard to deliver food, water, and medicine to a community following a disruptive event. The "Supply Chain Risk Management and Disaster Simulation" training promises to give you a better understanding of how you and your business can improve outcomes for disaster survivors.

To register for these onsite training sessions, visit https://cscmp.org/store/Default.aspx and search for the training session name in the CSCMP store.
