BluJay Announces what3words Addressing Integration with its MobileSTAR Last-mile Delivery Solution

Manchester, UK - February 12, 2019 - BluJay Solutions, a leading provider of supply chain software and services powered by the world's first Global Trade Network, has integrated what3words into its MobileSTAR application. The integration enables BluJay customers to specify delivery and pick-up locations with what3words' unique three-word address rather than traditional addressing or GPS coordinates. Benefits include increased accuracy, efficiency, and improved customer experience.

MobileSTAR provides a single, flexible platform for carriers to manage the entire delivery experience, with route optimization and real-time visibility and updates. The what3words algorithm takes complex GPS coordinates and converts them into more precise, unique three-word addresses. BluJay has integrated the technology to support the future of addressing, offering customers more granular location information for routes and delivery addresses so they can operate more efficiently.

"For BluJay, it's important to take a lead ushering in this next-gen addressing technology for our customers and last-mile logistics. The world is moving to more geolocation-based addressing, which not only solves a number of limitations inherent with traditional street-level addressing, but also opens new opportunities and applications for more exact, practical pick-up and drop-off points," said Doug Surrett, Chief Product Strategist at BluJay Solutions. "At the same time, logistics is shifting away from DC-to-retail models, toward more home delivery, and with that comes an incredible level of flexibility that customers are demanding. With the what3words integration, BluJay enables customers to use precise universal addresses that enable efficient delivery anywhere."

"As a leader in addressing technology, what3words is excited to partner with BluJay, a leader in last-mile delivery and supply chain execution software," said Pierre Francois, Senior Partnerships, what3words. "BluJay sees the value this integration provides to their users in adapting to the future of logistics and providing an optimal customer experience."
BluJay plans to expand the technology to other applications within its Global Trade Network platform in future releases.

About what3words
what3words provides a precise and simple way to talk about location. The company has divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3-word address. Better addressing can enhance customer experience, deliver business efficiency, drive growth and support social and economic development. The what3words algorithm takes complex GPS coordinates and converts them into unique 3-word addresses. It means anyone can talk about anywhere with 3 simple words, useful where street addresses don't exist and provides a level of specificity when they are not accurate enough.
