West Chester, PA - June 18, 2018 - A. Duie Pyle (Pyle), the premier provider of asset and non-asset based transportation and supply chain solutions in the Northeast, has been named to Food Logistics' 2018 Top Green Providers List for its commitment to incorporating superior sustainability practices throughout its service centers, warehouses, docks and fleet operations. The annual list recognizes companies whose products, services or exemplary leadership enhance sustainability within the food and beverage industry.

"We are honored to be recognized as a Top Green Provider. At Pyle, we strive to provide superior services to our customers while also promoting sustainability throughout the supply chain," said Frank Granieri, COO of A. Duie Pyle. "Pyle employees are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint every day, and we're proud to help our clients achieve more eco-friendly and sustainable supply chains."

Honorees were evaluated based on participation in recognized sustainability programs such as the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay initiative and selected based upon considerations which included operation of LEED-certified facilities or those which feature solar panels, energy saving measures, installations and retrofit upgrades that produced measurable reductions in GHG emissions. In addition to incorporating sustainability practices throughout its facilities and fleets, Pyle implemented an ongoing employee engagement program in which facilities compete monthly to lower their carbon footprint by utilizing more sustainable driving practices. This program helped Pyle save 101,230 gallons of fuel and 2.2 million pounds in carbon dioxide emissions in a three month period.

"The agricultural sector and food supply chains at large have long recognized the importance of environmental stewardship for long-term sustainability in both business and for future food production globally," said Lara L. Sowinski, editorial director of Food Logistics. "Food Logistics remains committed to promoting those in our industry who understand their leadership role in sustainability and work to raise the bar with new products, services and strategies each year."
