Raymond Named One of Fast Company's 2019 Most Innovative Companies

February 21, 2019
No Comments

The Raymond Corporation has been named to Fast Company's 2019 Most Innovative Companies list. Raymond was nominated for the impact its Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator tool has had on enhancing education for forklift operators.

Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list recognizes organizations transforming and shaping society. Spanning 36 categories, from artificial intelligence to wellness, each company is selected by a team of Fast Company editors and reporters.

"We are honored that Raymond is recognized among the world's leading, fast-paced organizations for its innovative solutions," said Michael Field, CEO, Raymond. "With tools like the Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator, Raymond is adding to the rapidly changing e-commerce industry — helping customers manage logistics and manufacturing needs, that ultimately get product into consumers' hands faster than ever before. This innovation in operator education is crucial for the manufacturing and distribution industries."

Raymond continues to innovate its material handling solutions to help ensure the company and its customers are always evolving. To that end, the Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator is the first education tool of its kind in the material handling industry and allows operators to become familiar with a forklift and the controls prior to working in a physical warehouse environment. The tool also helps build confidence and reinforce operator best practices while contributing to efficiency and productivity in the warehouse.

This innovation in operator education is crucial for the manufacturing industry, as experts predict that the greatest impact of the labor skills shortage on operations will be in maintaining or increasing production levels and implementing new technologies. The ability to learn from virtual reality is crucial as e-commerce demands increase and show no signs of slowing down.

The Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator will be showcased at the SXSW Trade Show at Booth 1539 from March 10 through March 13. To download photos of the Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator, click here.
