CHEP Recognized for Environmental Awareness at 2018 Automotive Global Awards North America

April 27, 2018
No Comments

Detroit, MI - April 26, 2018 - Three6Zero, host of last week's Automotive Global Awards, named CHEP as its 2018 Environmental Awareness Award recipient. Held in the heart of Motor City, the awards gala celebrated the industry and recognized companies and individuals who have pioneered a new way of thinking or working.

CHEP provides sustainable packaging solutions to some of the top automotive and industrial OEM and Tier 1 brands globally. In part, CHEP's win can be attributed to successfully addressing a major North American OEM's challenges with its privately-owned container fleet by implementing plant-level solutions to reduce cost and waste (read full case study).

CHEP partnered with the OEM to identify container management inefficiencies and provide on-site training, process monitoring, and transportation optimization support across a large network of suppliers. As a result, this OEM reduced expendable claims by 48%, reduced repack costs by 53%, and realized a 36% reduction in lost container replacement.

CHEP's business model is inherently sustainable, helping customers become part of the circular economy through principles of optimized share and reuse. All of CHEP's Sustainability activities are built around our strategic framework of Better Business, Better Planet, Better Communities, and the business plays a major role in advancing the Brambles Group's Sustainability strategy and achieving its 2020 Sustainability Goals. In addition to this recognition by Three6Zero, CHEP was also ranked #1 on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the Commercial Services and Supplies Industry.
