CLEVELAND, Ohio, April 4, 2018 — Vasanth Srinivasan, vice president of enterprise architecture of TMW, will be part of a panel to discuss blockchain technology and provide insight regarding its practical applications in the logistics and transportation sector for attendees of the upcoming Transportation Intermediaries Association's (TIA) Capital Ideas Conference to be held April 8-11 in Palm Desert, CA.

TMW is a leading provider of business solutions software supporting every area of transportation and logistics service lines. With its products, businesses have found ways to modernize processes, utilize real-time data for optimization, speed up turnaround times, increase efficiencies and much more.

"Blockchain technology's potential in the trucking industry is extensive," said Vasanth Srinivasan, vice president of enterprise architecture, of TMW. "We want to share that information with our TIA peers to encourage the trucking industry to embrace this innovative technology for increased productivity and optimization, and in turn higher profit margins."

Srinivasan will be part of a panel called Blockchain Technology: Beyond the Hype, How Does It Help? on April 11 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the JW Pavilion of the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa.

TIA is a premier organization for third-party logistics professionals doing business in North America. TIA provides resources, education, and information, such as Srinivasan's presentation, to encourage the growth of member businesses and the industry at large.

Blockchain technology is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, linked and secured using cryptography. In the trucking industry, blockchain crosses business segments and functions, improving nearly every process from billing and payment to freight planning and fleet visibility. With open, distributed ledgers of information, trucking companies can modernize outdated and time-consuming processes plaguing the industry.
