Multi-modal transportation solutions provider Hub Group broke ground on a second building on its 29-acre Oak Brook, Ill., headquarters campus to accommodate continued growth, the company said today.

Designed with environmentally sustainable building features, the facility will double the firm's footprint in suburban Chicago and is slated to open in September 2020. Combined, Hub Group's two headquarters buildings will accommodate up to 1,500 employees, the company said.

"Hub Group's customer-focused approach has led to sustained, long-term growth, especially as we continue to innovate with technology to drive a smarter supply chain," said David P. Yeager, chairman and CEO. "We are pleased to take the next step forward in adding much-needed room for our growing number of employees."

Hub Group moved to the Oak Brook campus in 2013 with approximately 500 employees and has since added nearly 300 employees, the company said.
