For the past 30 years, the annual "State of Logistics Report," produced by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and presented by Penske Logistics, has served as the most important analysis of the U.S. logistics industry and an indicator of the health of the overall economy.
Last year the report, which is authored by global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney, found that rocketing demand for transportation and logistics services had caused capacity to tighten and wages to rise, pushing business logistics up in 2017.
This year's report, which will be released June 18, 2019, will analyze whether these trends have continued. The report's authors will detail all the costs associated with moving freight through the U.S. supply chain for 2018 during a presentation at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. This year's report will also providean overview of the economy during the past year and the logistic industry's key trends.
