The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) has long maintained that its local chapters, known as roundtables, are the heart of the association. The roundtables provide a vital, local source for informative meetings, educational seminars, and rewarding networking. With more than 80 roundtables around the world, there is sure to be a CSCMP event happening somewhere in the world almost every week.

To find out what is happening near you, check out the listing of roundtable events on the newly redesigned CSCMP website. Here is a sample of some upcoming events:

  • The Kansas City Heartland Roundtable will host a networking reception and brewery tour at the new Boulevard Beer Hall and Visitors Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 29.
  • The Columbus, Ohio, Roundtable's First Annual Career Development Panel will be held on March 30 in Hilliard, Ohio.
  • The Twin Cities Roundtable will be offering a half-day seminar on April 21 in Bloomington, Minnesota, that will feature presentations on managing the demand chain, procuring trucking capacity, leadership and teambuilding, and supply chain mapping.
  • Greg Sikes, vice president of products at DAT Solutions, and Ben Cubitt, senior vice president of engineering and strategic career management at Transplace, will discuss the North American trucking market at a Dallas/Fort Worth Roundtable meeting in Plano, Texas, on May 18.

CSCMP's international roundtables also hold numerous events throughout the year. For example, CSCMP's Mexico affiliate, Conalog, holds monthly breakfast meetings with multiple speakers. Previous sessions have covered topics like the economic outlook for the trucking industry, strategies for controlling costs associated with serving clients, and preventing in-store stockouts, to name just a few. Another example is the Spain Roundtable's popular European Conference/Supply Chain Leadership Forum.
