CSCMP's redesigned Career Center offers expanded resources

CSCMP has redesigned its website to provide a more user-friendly experience. The improvements include a significant upgrade to the organization's online Career Center.

The new Career Center allows users to browse or search open postings by keyword, location, job category, and experience level. Users can also create a profile page and upload a résumé, sign up for e-mailed job alerts, and save information about jobs that interest them. (Profile pages can be set to "public," with all aspects searchable; "confidential," with the profile information searchable but contact information hidden; or completely "private.") The site will then tell the job seeker how many employers have viewed his or her profile and how many applications he or she has submitted in the past month. The Career Center is free to all job seekers.

Employers, for their part, can choose from a variety of options (starting at US $250) for their job postings. They can quickly and easily post their listing online, search résumés, and manage applications. The center also provides suggestions and resources for writing an effective job posting and making sure that you are compliant with government regulations.

One of the most interesting updates to CSCMP's Career Center is the Resources section. In addition to providing helpful advice and videos on networking, résumé writing, and interviewing, it also offers reference-checking and résumé-writing services to job applicants for a fee. Job seekers can also use the Resources section to identify and contact a career coach.
