In June, industry experts, supply chain professionals, researchers, and academics will gather in Lima, Peru, for two days of educational events that will draw speakers and attendees from throughout the Americas.
On Wednesday, June 22, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' Peru Roundtable, the Peruvian Association of Logistics Professionals (Asociación Peruana de Profesionales en LogÃstica, APPROLOG), and the Engineering College of Peru (Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú) will hold an international roundtable discussion with analysts, educators, and practitioners. The event's objective is to analyze industry's requirements for supply chain management and to propose plans and strategies for creating and/or improving logistics and supply chain education in light of those needs. The evening discussion will be followed by a networking reception.
On Thursday, the Peru Roundtable, APPROLOG, and the graduate school of the University of the Pacific (Universidad del PacÃfico) will co-host the annual Supply Chain Leadership Conference. The theme for the conference is "Advanced Big Data, Analytics, and Supply Chain Metrics." The keynote speakers will be Lora Cecere, founder and chief executive officer of the research firm Supply Chain Insights, and Mani Janakirma, director of supply chain strategy and analytics for Intel Corporation. Other speakers and panelists will include Nick Vyas, program director, University of Southern California's Marshall Center for Global Supply Chain Management; Yehuda Bassok, chair of University of Southern California's Department of Data Sciences and Operations; and Ron Mesia, director, Ryder Center for Supply Chain Management at Florida International University. Simultaneous translation will be provided for presentations in English.
