The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Spain Roundtable will present its Supply Chain Leadership Forum 2016, with the theme "Enabling Customer-Driven Supply Chains." The full-day event is scheduled for May 19 in Barcelona, Spain, and includes an optional tour of the bustling port of Barcelona the following day.

In this international, English-language event, thought leaders, supply chain and operations management professionals, and academics will share knowledge, best practices, and innovative ways to boost company performance by aligning and integrating supply chains to best serve customers.

The principal speakers will be Dr. Tony Hines, professor of marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University, and Lora Cecere, founder of the research firm Supply Chain Insights. Dr. Hines, one of the first strategists to draw attention to the customer-focused, market-driven supply chain, will speak on how to provide value for the customer by managing the "7Vs": volume-volatility, velocity, variety, variability, visibility, virtuality, and value. Cecere will present new research on defining and implementing a customer-centric strategy, including how to improve organizational alignment, define customer-centric supply chains, and convert policy into action.

The conference will also offer case study presentations by Jorge Calvo, global supply chain management division president and executive officer of Roland DG Corporation, Japan; and Mathias Ottitsch, supply chain director, south of Europe for Amazon.com. The day will conclude with workshops on building a customer-driven supply chain supported by the five CSCMP "Cornerstones": economic forecasts, benchmarks, and surveys; leadership, talent and career; manufacturing, planning, and sourcing; supply chain solutions and practice; and transportation, distribution, and warehousing.
