New online community to help with career development

The needs of young professionals just launching their careers are very different from those of mid-career supply chain professionals who are focused on deepening their skills. For their part, mid-career professionals are looking for different guidance than are senior managers and executives, or those who may be considering a transition into consulting or academia.

CSCMP's new online community, called CSCMP's Circle of Excellence, will seek to represent and help all of these different groups throughout their "membership lifecycle." The community, which is scheduled to launch in 2016, will allow members to share information, tools, and resources for career planning and professional achievement.

A committee of "masters" spent a portion of CSCMP's 2015 annual conference gathering information about members' career development needs. That group is now working to create online tools such as webinars, fact sheets, and blogs that can respond to members' questions and requests.
