CSCMP launches a supply chain simulation game for all levels of experience

The first-ever Roundtable Global Challenge is designed to bring together young professionals, middle management, and senior executives in a global competition.

There's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, especially when it's paired with a chance to improve your skills in supply chain management.

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' (CSCMP) Young Professionals' Committee is launching the first-ever Roundtable Global Challenge, a supply chain simulation game where teams of four compete to create the best supply chain strategy for the same fictional company. This interactive educational competition uses a supply chain simulation game called The Fresh Connection from Inchainge.

CSCMP hopes the game will not only serve as a fun, educational event but also provide a way for more senior supply chain professionals to interact with younger workers and bridge the generational gap. According to the challenge rules, each team must have a mix of young professionals, middle management, and senior executives.

The challenge begins with each roundtable holding local competitions to select the best team to represent the roundtable in the global challenge. Local competitions will take place between October 15 and December 30, 2015. Global teams will be selected in January 2016, and three rounds will be played throughout February, March, and April 2016. Each team will encounter challenging scenarios and will utilize the collective knowledge and experience of team members to make the best tactical and strategic decisions.

The three top-scoring teams will be invited to participate in the final competition, which will be held during the 2016 Roundtable Leadership Forum in Southern California. Each member of the winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to CSCMP's Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, USA, scheduled for September 25-28, 2016. Team members will be recognized at the conference for their accomplishments.

Attendees of CSCMP's 2015 Annual Conference in San Diego, California, September 27-30, are invited to visit the Roundtable Service Center booth at the San Diego Convention Center to meet representatives of Inchainge and experience The Fresh Connection game live.
