Supply Chain Quarterly's parent company announces staff promotions, new hires

AGiLE Business Media augments staffing to meet demands of its evolving digital strategy.

AGiLE Business Media has announced several changes in staffing for its industry-leading publications, CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly and DC Velocity. The company publishes CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly through Supply Chain Media LLC, a joint venture with the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

Susan Lacefield, a business journalist with 15 years of experience writing and editing articles about supply chain management and logistics, has been promoted to senior editor of CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly. She will report to Toby Gooley, who was named editor of the publication in October 2014. Lacefield, who has been with the publication since its launch in 2007, previously served as associate managing editor. She also writes for DC Velocity.

Martha Spizziri joins both publications as managing editor-digital. Spizziri, who previously worked at Logistics Management and Modern Materials Handling magazines, has long experience in developing and managing Web-based products.

Ben Ames, who has worked at Design News and Modern Materials Handling magazines, has joined DC Velocity as senior editor. He will also be an editor at large for The Quarterly.

Editorial Director Peter Bradley has announced several promotions at DC Velocity. David Maloney has been named chief editor, Karen Bachrach is now executive editor-features, and Mark Solomon has been promoted to executive editor-news.

In announcing the changes, Bradley said, "Over the past few years, we have been aggressively developing and implementing a strategy to ensure that we are offering our readers and viewers in-depth information in a variety of electronic formats, while at the same time fully supporting our very successful print publications. As part of that strategy, we are promoting some of our able and experienced staff and bring aboard new editors with expertise in digital media as well as the areas we cover."
