ALAN appoints Fulton as executive director
The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has named Kathy Fulton as its executive director. Fulton had been serving as the group's interim executive director since the death in August 2013 of ALAN co-founder and president John T. "Jock" Menzies.
Formed in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina, the organization coordinates the donation of logistics equipment and services to help nonprofit organizations respond to disasters. CSCMP is one of ALAN's founding members.
From 2010 until her appointment to the interim post last year, Fulton served as ALAN's director of operations. She took the helm following Menzies' death.
Mark Richards, vice president of ALAN's board, said the group was excited about Fulton "taking on an even larger leadership role ... and the opportunities this will create for her to continue to nurture her current relationships and expand her impact in the disaster preparation and relief communities."
ALAN also announced two other appointments. Joel D. Anderson, retired president and CEO of the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA), will manage private and public funding initiatives to support ALAN's annual operating needs and programs. Business development professional Felicia C. Alexander has also joined ALAN as liaison with emergency management and nonprofit organizations in California.
