Who is your supply chain hero?

Comment
Nominations for CSCMP's 2016 Distinguished Service Award are now open; nominations are due by April 30.

Some people go above and beyond the requirements of their individual jobs and truly work to improve the supply chain profession as a whole. They may do this by guiding research, experimenting with new technology and management strategies, sharing best practices, and/or educating and mentoring others. Every year, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals recognizes one of these "supply chain heroes" with its Distinguished Service Award.

Recent recipients include Robert Martichenko, chief executive officer (CEO) of LeanCor Supply Chain Group; Mike Regan, chief of relationship development, TranzAct Technologies Inc.; Ann Drake, chairman and CEO of DSC Logistics; and Abré Pienaar, CEO of iPlan.

Do you know someone worthy of joining these dignitaries? If so, then nominate him or her now for the award. All submissions must be received by April 30, 2016.

Nominees will be judged on five criteria:

  1. Sustained and distinguished record of contribution to the disciplines of logistics and supply chain management
  2. Contributions above the normal expectations of the job
  3. Recognition as a leader in logistics or supply chain management
  4. Recognition as an innovator in logistics or supply chain management
  5. Education of the logistics and supply chain management profession (both orally and written)

The 2016 award winner will be recognized at CSCMP's Annual Conference, scheduled for September 25-28, 2016, in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Members can also consider submitting nominations for CSCMP's other annual awards: the Doctoral Dissertation Award, Young Professionals Emerging Leader Award, the Supply Chain Innovation Award, the Bernard J. La Londe Best Paper Award, and the E. Grosvenor Plowman Award. More information about all of these recognitions is available here.
